The slipper is an open shoe that is worn at home, formed by a sole and an upper that can be limited only to a simple strip. It differs from sandalwood because it has no closure around the ankle. Slippers are considered in the industrialized world as home footwear, but in past centuries and even today in many countries, especially in hot climates, they are used as footwear for all uses.
